A SEED Strength: Social Emotional Learning (SEL)

The SEED Social Emotional Learning Pop-Up, Make a Difference, was a schoolwide success, bringing the SEED community together to connect, reflect, and recharge.

The spirited day featured a variety of activities and stations highlighting the many ways SEED staff and students practice Social and Emotional Learning (SEL). It was a time to engage, play, relax, and celebrate the heart of the SEED community together.

Participants who visited five or more of the stations earned a “Make a Difference” badge. With seven stations to explore, each offered a unique opportunity to build SEL skills and strengthen community spirit. Stations included:

Mindful Moments Station – Quick breathing or grounding activities

Community Connection Station – Share a kind message of gratitude with a colleague

Calm & Create Expression Station – Learn calming breathing techniques

Game Zone – Lighthearted games to boost relationships and fun

Tasty Bites Station – Enjoy a mindful snack break

Picture Booth – Capture your “I Made a Difference” moment!

SEL Feedback Survey – Complete a quick 3-minute survey to earn your required stamp and help shape future SEL experiences.

Self-care experiences were also offered, including 10-minute revitalizing skincare and hand massage sessions by Brainiac Beauty, along with mindful movement techniques led by Daniella, SEED’s afterschool yoga instructor.

Throughout the day, participants enjoyed giveaways, games, and prizes. Before leaving, everyone was invited to add to the Reflection Wall, sharing one way they plan to make a difference this year through SEL.
